Art in the Park 2016
47th Annual Art in the Park - 8/21/16
The Martinez Arts Association (MAA) had its 47th annual Art in the Park on Sunday, August 21st, at Susana Park in Martinez, Over 50 artists were at this free event. Visitors enjoyed fine arts and crafts created by local artists, music, food, beverages and a sense of community.
The event featured wines from Viano Vineyards and beer from Epidemic Ales along with a selection of food truck vendors. There was a great line-up of music again this year:
Our MC this year was Harriett Burt.
10a: National Anthem - Cindy Cruciani - lead singer of Tone Pony.
10:15a-11:00: Thomas Martin
11:15 - noon: Chris Kuria
12:15 - 1:15 : Killbillies
1:45-3:00 : The New Frantics
3:30 - 5:00: Caroompas Room
This year’s silent auction raised money to support the arts in local schools. This year the theme was Recycled Yard Art, featuring unique, whimsical items created and donated by participating artists.
There was plenty of free parking in downtown Martinez with a golf cart shuttle from the Farmer’s Market at the Starbucks plaza.
