We are sorry to announce the cancellation of the 2020 SWAN Day festival due to Covid-19.  See you next year!

Often held the 4th Saturday of every March, SWAN Day – Support Women Artists Now Day –  is an international event designed to showcase the power and diversity of women’s creativity. The Martinez Arts Association sponsors this annual event at the Old Train Depot  on Ferry St. in Martinez.  For more information about the international event go to:   http://www.womenarts.org/swan/

Locally, the Martinez Arts Association has brought this international holiday close to home in downtown Martinez and has been celebrating since 2007. With the support of the City of Martinez and local artists we have promoted the concept of celebrating all forms of art including visual & performing arts. This event is FREE and we invite all artists and lovers of the arts to join in the celebration of this amazing collaboration of artists.

SWAN Day 2019 - some sun, some clouds, a few drops of rain...it was all good!

SWAN Day 2018 - the weather was a little chilly, but we were blessed with sun!

SWAN Day 2017 - A beautiful sunny day!

We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, lots of creativity, great music by the New Frantics, and a warm community event. Thanks to all who attended, participated, and collaborated in this very special celebration.  And a big thanks to event organizers Vernon Sanders, RC Ferris, and all the other people who helped make this year's event a great success. A shout out to Jenny Starmack for arranging the music and running the sound!

SWAN Day 2016 - It rained, but the show went on!

SWAN Day 2014
Despite the rain, SWAN Day 2014 was yet another fun and inspiring event. Thanks to all who joined us, participated, celebrated, and collaborated in this special occasion.  And a big thanks to RC Ferris and her event coordinators for their generous commitment to this holiday.  Photography courtesy of MAA Member, Molly Weinstein
