Featuring Mason Roberts Paintings & Drawings at the Martinez Library through March 27, 2026
The Martinez Library and the Martinez Arts Association are proud to present a selection of paintings and drawings by local artist Mason Roberts. Show will run from Friday January 30, 2026 through Friday March 27, 2026 in the downstairs gathering space at the Downtown Branch of the Martinez Library - 740 Court St, Martinez, CA 94553. The show and space will be open during the Library’s typical business hours. For more information please visit www.ccclib.org/locations/16. Mason’s artwork is based on his love of drawing + painting and creating something tangible which in turn allows him to share his most innermost thoughts and feelings with the world around him. “I strive to find balance between recognizable shape and abstract form and to tell a story through their interaction and juxtaposition.” For Mason, these forms and connections often take the shape of the natural world and its inhabitants and perhaps highlight the increasingly complicated relationship we have with each other along with the numerous connections we share. Mason Roberts was born and raised in Pleasant Hill, CA, graduated from College Park High School and attended Diablo Valley College before transferring to San Jose State University to study Interior Architecture & Design. Mason works as an Artist and Designer and lives in Downtown Martinez. Additional artist information available www.masonroberts.art. |

You will find not only good drink and fun times here, but ongoing exhibits of original work by local artists. Through March 2026, 18 abstract oil paintings by Denise Hillman are on view and available for purchase. Any sales will generate a 15% donation to the Martinez Arts Association.
" My work is exploratory and intuitive when I start, painting from whatever emotional state I'm in. I typically work fast. As I work, it becomes a process of solving composition, color and value problems and asking a lot of "what ifs" to create a successful painting. Arriving at the finish line can sometimes be quick and feel easy, or can be a frustrating struggle spanning weeks or months. As I've grown as an artist, I've become much more critical in evaluating my own work. I regularly exhibit in juried exhibitions throughout Northern California and Arizona where my work is held in private collections. As a member of Main Street Arts Gallery in Martinez and a volunteer and board member with MAA, I am active and engaged with my local art community. My work continues to evolve through professional classes, workshops, and ongoing mentoring." Denise's website |
