Even during pandemic awfuls, birthdays happen and if one doesn’t leave home, you have to make that birthday card. Especially for that 15th one! Quincenaro celebracion, mi nieta! Calligraphy of important words in my grandaughter’s life, on special paper with fine point pens, color pencil for background color and a star rubber stamp and gold color ink for Happiness.

The interesting part is there is no glue in the actual binding. The front and back cover boards are 'sewn' to the spine and then the five signatures making up the book are 'sewn' to the stitches that hold the front, back and spine together making up a book with 40 actual pages that lay flat when opened.

A miniature artist’s beach book. The shell itself is about 1-1/2” wide, book contains one of my poems in calligraphy, multiple art papers, lots of tiny engineering. The base is a covered book board, handmade paper and a needle felted support with yarn, threads, shells, and a rock.
